I'm actually supposed to be working now but with most of my work for the day cleared [and my immediate superiors not around!], this presents me a superb opportunity to .. blog. :)
And yes, I should count my lucky stars for getting this job. Simple job scope, good pay, nice working environment, earlier knock off timing .. the list goes on. Even though it's just about as mundane as my previous one at NDC, I guess I can live with that - the old adage of money making the world go round quietly forcing me to immediately affect a change in my thinking. For those who wish to argue against this fact - there's no point, really. Just a simple look around you would suffice. Indeed, there's really no such thing as a free lunch but I guess we're taking this phrase a LITTLE TOO SERIOUSLY. Everything around us is so .. expensive. -.- Food, clothes, even the simple flicker of a switch for the lights is that much degrading on one's financial capabilities.
And it's not just that as well. One of the main motivational factors for me to pursue this rather uninteresting career as a simple rank and file documents clerk is for me to create Mazda 3: Episode 2. [And I think only a couple and that girl will know what I mean, LOL.] And yes, I'm really itching to get behind the steering wheel of a car [the real one, not the arcade machine!]
On a more random note, while taking over the periphals I need for my job here, I happened to chance upon the name of the guy who left.
And you know what it is?
Wen Han.
I just had my haircut. And it's a super duper cheap haircut [at $3!]
But .. I have one grouse.
I didn't really pay much attention to it until Andy pointed it out. That thick mane of hair that I chose to leave uncut at the back of my head kinda gave my hairstyle that 80's look. And if that's not bad enough, there's one more thing that I hate to say as well - I actually agree with him.
Guess my sense of fashion is kinda .. out, huh?
Oh well. Andy/Adeline will be flying off to Taiwan for their dance training. So, best wishes and bon voyage to the both of them, no?
Is it just me, or why do I have this sudden feeling that it'll be a case of 2 persons going there and 3 persons coming back? [Yes, this doesn't sound right. =X]

Just got back from the IT fair and I brought this pair of headphones from Sennheiser at $24.90. It's not the holy grail of the abovementioned but I guess it'll do for me. After all, I AM ON A SHOESTRING BUDGET. -.-
I'm kinda flustered. It's probably about me being too overconfident, but learning the piano is proving to be more of a handful that I expected it to be. I can't get the rhythm right, My playing sucks, I always get the notes wrong .. the list goes on. But no worries, I know I'm not going to give up that easily.
Just the start of a long and winding road for me?

After two weeks of MIA-ness, I'm back here again.
Many things had happened - the weekend "getaway" with a certain Mazda 3 [My dad will KILL me if he finds out, hahahahaha!], the "pouring" of coins into arcade gaming, Final Destination [Which is kinda pointless - it's like, paying $8 to watch people die in every gruesome way possible] and The Proposal [A light-hearted romantic .. comedy between a career woman and her assistant.]
And yes, I kinda like, got myself fired from my current job as a Records Clerk at National Dental Center. Not that I regret anything at all - I had some great times there, working/joking/slacking with some of the staff there. Rather, I think that I was probably just a victim of the office politics there. One way or another, I just feel that some of the permanent staff there have some .. "hard feelings" against me bah. Well, I do admit that I was the absolute slacker there - but then again, I was briefed on my first day at work there to take things slowly. Well, if I'm getting f***ed for doing what my bosses tell me to do, I guess a change in jobs would be better for me. [And not withstanding the poor pay - my salary is a measly $800+ a month, something which renting a certain Mazda 3 for the weekend reinforced in my head.]
Oh well. No point crying over split milk, I guess.
Life goes on.
Out.

With a little bit of spare time in between file transfers between my PSP and my laptop, I blog.
I'm feeling this irritating sensation on my right ear. Or rather, I HAVE been feeling this for quite some time already but always, I dismissed it as a rash of one form or another. A mistake, really - I think it has come to the point whereby my skin has peeled off and revealed raw, unprotected flesh. The fact that I'm like, wearing my spectacles 24/7 isn't helping much as well. Guess it's time for band-aids, huh?
Oh well. I guess I will cut short everything and save whatever I wanted to type for another time.[It's already 2.33AM and I have no intention of waking up a walking zomebie tomorrow. :)]
Till then, I suppose.
Was looking at this guy play and .. he's my newest idol. LOL.

While out with Rain, Chuan and Wan Ling at Vivocity today, I bore witness to a certain "event" that got my brain juice(s) flowing.
I was at the arcade with Chuan when this kid cut into the queue. [Of course, I'm not that small gas - the kid was probably a little more then 4, 5 years old so maybe, I should just put this down to him not knowing about the bigger things in life.] Rather, It was when he swiped in a credit for the game that got me thinking - the kid has like, $110.65 worth of play value in his card. O.o
And I still remember the days where I was like, 2-3 times his age and I had to BEG my mother to BRING ME UP TO THE ARCADE. Of course, as I got older, she let me run around but then again, such activity was kinda frowned upon by my mother and relatives and they did their best to discourage me from doing so. [To no avail, of course. I never really did quite like to stick around with them .. it was the epitome of boredom! XD] And even IF I DID GO UP TO THE ARCADE, I would have like only, $2-$5 to play around with?
So, I wonder: Is it just me lagging behind the times or do we all need to do some soul searching?
Yeah, I think I'm starting to sound like a hypocrite - after all, the memories of me playing arcade games such as Initial D and Wangan Midnight are still firmly etched into my brain. Indeed, The amount of money I spent on this two games itself definitely runs into the thousands. And yes, I do feel ashamed of this fact but I seek a small consolation prize from the fact that this sum of money has brought me some great memories [and as well as teach me a few .. painful lessons of life.]
And to be on the random side of life - I need to improve my singing. Hearing yourself go out of tone and pitch for like, 1924710957112957810925718947 times while at K-Box with a couple and a girl [or is it a boy? OPPS =X] is definitely not my idea of fun.
Currently listening to this at the moment.
It's got quite a catchy beat, don't you think?

A few mins ago, whilst engaged in yet another round of DOTA, My mind suddenly .. developed an itch to blog. And so, to prevent any more of my brain cells from dying out due to a lack of any mental activity whatsoever, here I go, again. :)
I'm currently experiencing a deja vu of sorts - maybe, it's just the environment in which I do my blogging is like, always the same? [Lights off, my computer screen and it's assorted paraphernalia staring me back in the face, the reverberating of my speakers/sub-woofer as they pump out song after song, the hesitant commitment of my hands as my mind goes into overdrive, wondering if perhaps, the next sentence I type would offend yet another person ..]
Or rather, I should just learn to face the fact that I can't always please anyone and everyone, no?
Heh. Pointless mind-twisting aside, I guess the real point of this post is to like, "rant" over this particular problem of mine.
It has come to a point where I have real difficulty in differenanting between who I can call true friends and who I CAN'T. Or, to be more precise: I always ignore this problem and hope that it'll go away, but sadly, life doesn't work that way.
At times, I wish I could like, just *point* *point* *point* at any random person(s) and vola! Problem solved. BUT, then again, I'm just daydreaming. [yes, guys, start sharpening your knives now. I'm still running away from the problem at hand.]
But seriously, open confrontation is just as unlikely to produce results as well. Not when said not-so-true friends will just "act blur, live longer".
So, anyone - What should I do?

Is it just me, or has internet browsers the world over decided to go on strike?
Google Chrome is lagging, Mozilla Firefox wouldn't display facebook in it's proper form, Internet explorer .. AH. Whoever uses IE nowadays? =X
But yep, back to the main point. Yes, finally, I have gotten off my rotten ass to actually BLOG. A big cue for Singapore pools, huh?
So many things have past in the few months - Release from my term of conscription as a Driver in the SAF [and the subsequent conversion of my military license to a civilian one! :)], my new-found love of DOTA and WOW, signing of a temporary work contract with National Dental Center as a records clerk, the twin temptations that many will know as Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3DX and Initial D Arcade Stage 5 .. There's really too many to name [and too little time to do so.]
Looking at my keyboard, I can only just silently wonder why I'm still doing arcade gaming. I thought I was past that phrase in life - or maybe I should just attribute it to that "winners don't quit, quitters don't win" mentality of mine. But still, I cannot deny the fact that it's quite a troublesome drain on my finances [and at the rate I'm going, I'm going to take FOREVER to save up for my digital piano! -.- ] So, for now, I guess the most I can do is to curb such "undesirable" expenditure till the day where my piano arrives, following which, I will do my utmost to erase completely my love of arcade gaming .. 'RIGHT. =X
And speaking of which, I decided to register for this little competition for Wangan Midnight. The trials start on the 29th of August with the full thingamajig commencing the day after [OF COURSE, that is, assuming I get past the trials first. ^^"] Of course, one might point out to this being just a big ****ing waste of my time and money but I guess it's more then just that.
It's probably just me but I seriously love the spirit of competition, of learning from my own mistakes, of triumph over the strong while helping those weaker then me improve and of course, my love for THAT Mazda RX7 FC3S [which, if anyone doesn't know how it looks like, you guys can just scroll up and look at the manga-like picture at the top of my blog. :)]
But, enough with all of this .. idiocy. For now, as mentioned earlier, I'm now working as a temporary records clerk at National Dental Center. Basically, my job is just to:
1) Trace records of any given patient needed by our oh-so-great doctors upstairs.
2) Rearrange about, 12940710957108571824712080192571085710238 records in a way that my lord and masters deem convenient for their needs.
3) Assist my lord and masters in whatever errands they deem fit for us to execute.
If anyone wonders why, yes, the sarcasm is all for the sake of humor.
Work isn't really tiring but it sure is damned monotonous. In fact, I don't even feel like a clerk at all - rather, they should change this job name to "Records Storeman" or something. Calling it a clerk has got to be the biggest joke, ever - the clerks I know of don't have to climb up and down shelves for like, their entire work day. Rather, it's more of like a sit-in-front-of-the-computer-and-surf-facebook-all-day thing BUT THEN AGAIN, given the slackness of my work, I guess this is all quite .. irrelevant. =X But yeah, when this contract expires, I will most probably be job hunting .. again. -.- This time round, I'll remember to aim for something that gives me a little bit more vitamin M. XD
And yes, it's 3.34AM in the morning and if I don't go to sleep now, I can forsee myself becoming a walking zombie at work. So yep, good night [or rather, morning. XD] to all. :)
