An application for an online dating agency [ with rather hilarious results! ]

This is really nice. Don't mind the world war 2 setting, this scene from the movie "downfall" [ which is about the final days of Hitler's life, if anyone's interested. ] touches on something closer to present times [ and our hearts as well. :) ]

While the guy who posted this video says it's from japan, I think it's actually from Taiwan.

Consider carefully the following statement(s) and the assignment below it:

1: "I never saw an ugly thing in my life: for let the form of an object be what it may-light, shade, and perspective will always make it beautiful."

2: "If there is one thing worse than beingan ugly duckling in a house of swans, it's having the swans pretend there's no difference."

Assignment: Is it true that there are no ugly things?

---

Anyway, if you guys can help, read this composition and tell me what you think works and which areas I can improve on. Thanks in advance! :)

--

Whenever I think of the word; "ugly", I also think of the word; "beautiful". Indeed, life has taught me to look on the good side of the bad and the ugly.

It all started in school, where I got to know of a girl by the name of Wei Ling. The first impression you would have of her was that she was the ugly duckling; she suffered from a skin condition where her skin would constantly peel off. Hence, she was always the center of all those unwanted gossip. But she never let it affect her; in fact, she would use it as motivation to outperform those naysayers. And outperform them, she did: her results, when compared to her more beautiful peers, was always the pride and joy of our teachers.

And it didn't end there. A alway-ready-to-help demeanor and a great level of maturity helped to make up for her looks. For example, having seen my poor command of mathematics, she would stay back after classes to coach me and ensure that I understood the lessons taught. Also, she could often been seen dispensing advice and lending a listening ear to those with problems. Lastly, her maturity was also a calming influence on our otherwise rowdy class and soon, she gained the trust, respect and admiration of those around her.

In conclusion, I would very much agree that there is never an ugly thing; for if there is really one, It would be our insistence of labeling it as such and not looking at it in a positive way instead.
Was at Funan [ the digital life mall! ][ And since when did they change slogans already? Wasn't it Funan - the IT mall or something like that!? ] earlier to get this.

And so, you might ask me why I'm posting this utterly random of a blog post about a 2.1 speaker system which nobody will give a **** about. In fact, this has everything and anything to do with the change of blog song.

You see, after hooking up all those what-have-you-nots needed for a successful interface between my lappie and said sound system, I was itching to put this thing through it's paces. So .. one song led to another and .. It came to this song [ which you guys should be hearing as you look through this post. ]

And it brings back some .. memories.

---

When I first heard this song, It was back during my early days as a newly - minted driver of platoon 3, Mandai Hill Node/Camp. Back then, I was doing my driver orientation training with my Platoon warrant officer, Master Sergeant [ MSG ] Aaron Sham. It was on the road back from Changi Naval Base when he took out his W950I and played this song.

And straightaway, I fell in love with it.

The simple lyrics, the soft rock touch to this love song, even the way the guy [ Rico's his name, I think -.- ] sings it .. It really just wow-ed me away.

And yet .. for all the cute ways that resulted in me knowing this song, there's also this rather awkward memory I have of it. Well, some of you guys should know. For those who don't, I'll prefer to keep it this way. :) After all, I believe I should .. keep this somewhere close to my heart.

---

Oh well .. the lyrics, once again, for those who are interested.

Nobody knows
Just why we're here
Could it be fate
Or random circumstance
At the right place
At the right time
Two roads intertwine

And if the universe conspired
To meld our lives
To make us
Fuel and fire
Then know
Where ever you will be
So too shall i be

Chorus:

Close your eyes
Dry your tears
'coz when nothing seems clear
You'll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Weary heart
You'll be safe here

Remember how we laughed
Until we cried
At the most stupid things
Like we were so high
But love was all that we were on
We belong

And though the world would
Never understand
This unlikely union
And why it still stands
Someday we will be set free.
Pray and believe

Chorus:

When the light disappears
And when this world's insincere
You'll be safe here
When nobody hears you scream
I'll scream with you
You'll be safe here

Save your eyes
From your tears
When everything's unclear
You'll be safe here

From the sheer weight
Of your doubts and fears
Wounded heart

When the light disappears
And when this world's insincere
You'll be safe here

When nobody hears you scream
I'll scream with you
You'll be safe here

In my arms
Through the long cold night
Sleep tight
You'll be safe here

When no one understands
I'll believe
You'll be safe,
You'll be safe
You'll be safe here
Put your heart in my hands
You'll be safe here

Life:

Is just so much simpler when all the big shots in your unit are overseas. No more of those stupid last - minute shit that needs to be done, no more boot - licking of said big shots [ by certain persons in the same unit that I don't wish to mention; they should know who they are, duh. -.- ], no more office politics, and lastly, no more of the insanely high standards that they demand from us [ I know they mean well but still, I can't help but feel that there's some ulterior motive in the works ].

And! How I wish for the MT [ Short form for Motor/Mechanised Transport ] line that I am a part of to remain like this forever. But well, fact is fact, and the fact is: those ideals can and will never happen.

Mr Andy had his 20th birthday celebration today. I dread blogging about it all [ there's too many things to type about that I don't even know where to start! ] So I guess I will be a lazy pig and leave it at it is now.

WOW.

It's 2.11 AM in the morning.

I think it's really time for me to catch my 40 winks.
Currently undergoing one of the weirdest details in my driver life.
I was in camp yesterday when I caught sight of this particular commercial. While I don't think anyone has uploaded it online, you guys should seen it before. It's the one where Mediacorp advertises about itself, with the highest ratings and further possible reach blah blah blah.

That's okay with me but SERIOUSLY.

The content, the appeal of both media .. it's just so different lah, like comparing between apples and oranges.

So I wonder: IS it even a fair comparison at all?

---

LOL.

---

---

And this is very exaggerating.

---

---

I don't know whether to pity or laugh at that guy.

---

---

you guys might take a while to understand the tagline.

---

Another reason why one should stop smoking.

---

And if you hear the last part [ the brand name, that is ], it's actually sounds like a vulgarity! [ in cantonese, that is. ]

Yet again, kudos to www.jokediary.com.

On an African Safari, the native guide was asked how to keep from being attacked by wild animals at night.

"Just carry a lighted torch. " He suggested.

"Does that really work?" the questioner persisted.

"It depends" said the guide, "On how fast you carry it."

"My friend's grandmother was taking a walk when a big tough guy walked by and ripped off her fake gold chain. As he run away with it she reacted ripping off his chain, which was made of real gold."

A man and a friend are playing golf one day at their local golf course. One of the guys is about to chip onto the green when he sees a long funeral
procession on the road next to the course. He stops in mid-swing, takes off his golf cap, closes his eyes, and bows down in prayer.
His friend says: "Wow, that is the most thoughtful and touching thing I have ever seen. You truly are a kind man.
The man then replies: "Yeah, well we were married for 35 years."

---

A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in 9 holes before he had to head home.

Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone.

Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him.

To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far, but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time.

Finally, they reached the 9th fairway and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball, directly between his ball and the green.

After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree."

With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard, hit the ball up, right smack into the top of the tree trunk and it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally lay.

The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only 3 feet tall."

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO overjoyed.

Arsenal vs Manchester United.

2 - 1.

:)
Can someone please tell me this:

What is the meaning of the word, "love" ?

I feel that my life is a mixture of these two movies.

Don't ask me why/how/where/when/what .. but really.

If there are some things that transcends the use of the English Language .. this has got to be it.

My headphones just went through a routine wash in the washing machine.

And the lucky part?

It's still working.

Well, since I can't really blog about my life in the SAF, I guess this videos will keep me [ and you guys ] entertained.
